So close,
These dreams are so close,
They let me get so close to you,
Then tear me from your arms.
I see you,
I feel you,
I need you more than ever,
So freakin' close,
That it feels like forever,
Never thought the pain would be this thick,
Like dust collecting on my heart.
I cough, but instead of dust,
Sparks fly from my lips.
My skin feels thinner than ever before,
Like paper ready to tear,
My soul is pounding against these walls,
I need to get out, away from here,
My tears have taken a golden sheen,
Staining my eyes and clouding my days,
I know what is right, and what I have to do for now,
But why do my dreams torment me,
And let me get so close,
